There has been (and maybe still is) a certain stereotypical perception of foreigners who live in Japan as "anime fans", and although I don't watch much of it myself, one very definite exception is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, which is one of my favourite works of entertainment in any field. So getting to shoehorn an episode title into this article is a matter of considerable and slightly nerdy satisfaction (first season, third episode).
The link? Having been an Apple user for many years, I've made a partial break with them (interestingly, the Japanese title of the episode in question translates to something like "A modest rebellion") and I now have an Android phone: the Leitz phone 3. It's based on an Aquos design, it's only available in Japan, and it is supposedly a collaboration with Leica (hence the name). The main attraction is three settings which are apparently supposed to mimic the style of three of Leica's most famous prime lenses: Summilux 28, Summilux 35, and Noctilux 50, including settings for f-stops from 1.4 (1.2 for the Noctilux) to 8 (which essentially cancels out the bokeh and lets you use it as a normal lens).
Anyway, it's early days with it, and there's definitely a bit of a learning curve (hence the metadata at the bottom of the pictures, which I forgot to turn off), but here are some of the first shots. Hope you like them!
