While there were several reasons to visit the UK in August, one of them was based on the chance to get away from the Japanese summer. Upon looking up the long term forecast for where we were going, we were looking at a difference of ten degrees or more, which is nothing to sneeze at.

Our first actual destination was Edinburgh, home of the looming castle, and home of Trainspotting, for a nice cultural mix. A very fine city, but the weather was...unpredictable, and that’s coming from someone who grew up in the neighbour to the south. Some initial pictures:
