A roundup of recent iPhone shots.

The iPhone is the proverbial camera which you always have with you, and they keep getting better with each iteration. I'm not totally convinced by night mode; it seems incapable - without a lot of adjustments - to make the scene look very close to how it really appeared (I find myself reducing the exposure by at least half the slider). But for anything else, it's more than good enough and it's probably the quickest camera I've used in terms of being able to react quickly to something going on (you essentially don't need to focus in many cases because the depth of field is so huge). What it doesn't have that a "real" camera does is the usability factor, which is one reason I have a "real" camera too. But for those times I'm out and when photography isn't the principal reason for being out, the iPhone comes in handy. And if the cameras keep improving at this rate, I could theoretically see myself some time down the line using a phone exclusively. That time's not quite here yet though.

So this week's post is a selection of recent shots from the iPhone 11 pro. All processing done with the in-phone app.

More to come (both from the iPhone and the "real" camera).

Thanks for looking!
