Backwards or forwards?

When I started getting into photography, I shot mostly with telephoto zooms. I was so green that I didn't know the difference between primes and zooms, let alone what aperture meant, and probably thought "ooh, big long lens make nice picture!". Over time, this tendency slowly changed, and these days I rarely go past 90 mm or thereabouts (or its equivalent in full frame terms).

However, I started wondering if it was possible (or desirable) to return to an earlier shooting style, so I shot with a 100-400 lens for a while. The conclusion: yes, it's possible, but overall it was an experiment I'm not going to repeat. I'm sticking mainly with my normal-to-short-telephoto primes.

However, I still got some interesting shots from the 100-400, so here's a selection. Hope you enjoy them.

There will be a few more "long" shots, but I'm considering it a short term experiment. In any case, plenty more photos to come, so keep an eye out.

Thanks for looking!
