As north as it gets (3)

The title is no longer strictly accurate, as this entry refers to heading south - going further north not really being an option.

While my home country is currently being subjected to train strikes, something that basically doesn't happen in Japan, we did have a slightly unusual situation: a cancelled train from Wakkanai. Because of where we were, and where we were going, this meant a wait of several hours for the next one, so we went walking. When the train did come (exactly on time, of course), it was approaching sundown, and I had an idea for passing the time (it was around a three hour journey): put my iPhone against the window and see what happened if I shot some pictures on the move. I used ProRaw, knowing that there would be some fairly significant post processing needed, and some of the results were quite interesting. This was one case when the iPhone was the right tool for the job; its ability tto shoot multiple pictures and combine them in no time at all (and do all this in Proraw mode) made it ideal.

To round off this little project, a few pictures from the area around where my wife's family lives, easily and accurately described as "south of Wakkanai"

That concludes this little northern series, but there's more to come in a week or two.

Thanks for looking!
