Sunday night's alright for uploading

Back to the more or less regular pattern of once-a-week uploads. These are all from the same camera - a Fuji X100 (the original one) which I picked up during a recent "equipment restructuring" session. They're going for peanuts these days, but they are still nice little machines. I've started to get tempted by the D800, as they also are getting seriously cheap, but for now the X100 and the faithful Merrill are my two cameras.

So here are 20 from the X100.

Man in the mirror

Little luxuries

This was an intentional experiment using the newest version of Camera RAW, which lets you adjust the colour temperature in a selected area of the frame only (i.e. a local, rather than global, adjustment). The idea was to go from blue / cool to yellow / warm across the frame.

Balance of shadows and light

Shadows as a compositional element

There's a castle hiding somewhere in this picture

This was taken from more or less the same spot as a picture from the very earliest days of this site, which can be found here

There are quite a few festival / dance related shots in the pipeline. Here are some.

Port of Nagoya

Parkour x 2

Little bit of urban art

The dog's name is, appropriately enough, Jack

All about the light

Cars as art

And this last one I have to say I quite like. One of those shots of which many of the great photographers say "we don't take the picture, we are taken by it". You see it and you have no choice but to shoot it or be kicking yourself afterwards.

Plenty more to come in the coming weeks...

Thanks for looking!
