Tokyo and Düsseldorf, part 2

May 24, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Second day (and the day of the concert, to which I was very much looking forward). But before that, more pictures.

Got to have a reflection shot in. It's some kind of unwritten law.

We went to a park by the name of "Koishikawa Korakuen", quite a mouthful, but a nice place for Tokyoites to escape the city madness for a while.

This little bridge is known as the "moon" (or possibly "full moon") bridge, due to its shape reflected in the water

From here we went for a somewhat different feel: Shin-Okubo, also known as "Little Korea". A slice of Korea (apparently; I haven't been there) in Tokyo. Bustling and loud.

Don't worry, the dog was just taking a break.

Following that, I took a vaguely circuitous route back to our hotel before the concert started. I started off at Meiji Jingu...

(As seen from the bridge over Harajuku)

Down Harajuku itself...

A slight detour to Shibuya to shoot the crossing (from a distance)

And finally the concert venue itself, where Kraftwerk put on an absolute blinder of a performance. I've seen some really impressive live performances before, and this one may well have eclipsed them all. It was sensational.

Last part of this little series will follow in a few days.

Thanks for looking!
