Nakasendo part 4

May 03, 2013  •  Leave a Comment

Final part of the Nakasendo trip.

The stretch of road which we walked has a suitable end point in Tsumago (妻籠), one of those places where you would swear you've walked onto the set of a period drama. Coming from a big city, it almost feels like another world. A very nice world, for sure, but certainly nothing like life in a city of two or three million. I kept expecting to see actors wearing chonmage wigs and carrying swords.

Lots of wooden buildings, and still very bright, so still plenty of work for HDR.

It wasn't all buildings; I got this nice shot too

I prefer not to crop pictures unless necessary but this time it was necessary to get the power lines out of the way. They really made the photo look bad, whereas without them it looks nice.

More HDR

Let sleeping dogs lie...

These were planted outside a public convenience.

Three shot bracketed HDR, closeup.

And one final shot of the scenery before heading back to the big city.

That's it for Nakasendo, hope you enjoyed it. There will be more photos on the way soon.

Thank you for looking!
