Hometown, part 2

Second of a two parter about Nagoya. This one will mainly be from the streets, plus some beautiful light from Osu Kannon temple.

Firstly the streets.  The Sigma isn't the world's quickest focuser, to put it mildly, but waiting, prefocusing and getting the timing right often produces good enough results with moving subjects.

The light was awesome here. I just had to prefocus and wait for someone to come into the field of focus.

Colourful storefront. (This building also houses a camera store specialising in old models)

Another interesting storefront. This was shot pointing the camera straight up. It looks like a bunch of speakers, although it wasn't a record shop.

On to the final destination for this entry: Osu Kannon temple. It's a pretty impressive temple in its own right, and it also happens to be right next to a very cool shopping arcade with a great camera shop. Needless to say, I know the area pretty well!

The light was just right to get some shots of the "holy smoke" - it's a burner in front of the temple entrance and the devoted will waft it over themselves, presumably for protection or something similar. Anyway, the light was amazing...

Last one, and this one stays in colour. I love this one, if I say so myself...

Thanks for looking! My recent acquisition of the two videos I mentioned earlier has really given me even more motivation to go out and shoot, so I hope to be posting around once a week if possible.
