Nikko: greens and blues

July 04, 2021  •  Leave a Comment

Nikko, in Tochigi prefecture (a couple of hours by train from Tokyo) is one of those places where tourism is the major industry. With the current state of affairs, that is not the ideal situation. So while I can't claim that it was for purely altruistic reasons, we thought we would go and do our bit for the local economy.

There is something very Japanese about Nikko: to get to the best views, you have to put in some effort. From the station, we had a bus ride of some forty minutes to get to one of the best views. It was certainly worth it. On top of that, we got very lucky with the weather.

The first part of the "Nikko" series features pictures all shot from two locations only, which tells you how photographically rich the area is. As the title mentions, it is almost exclusively made up of greens and blues. In any case, hope you enjoy it!

The next set will have a different colour palette and will feature another of Nikko's top attractions.

Thanks for looking!
