Last of the JPGs? (1)

October 31, 2021  •  Leave a Comment

When using the iPhone (which I've been doing more and more of recently), I always just shot it as normal because the computational wizardry means that, unless you're going out of your way to shoot incredibly difficult scenes, you end up with a more or less accurately exposed shot which needs little to no adjustment. Consequently, even when Apple introduced Proraw, I didn't use it much if at all. That's now changed, as I started experimenting with it out of curiosity, and it quickly convinced me that it's by far the smarter way to shoot. (My "camera cameras" are RAW all the way as well).

That means that this and the following entry will be "the last of the JPGs" - I intend to only shoot JPG in the future if I'm using the phone to document something for information (i.e. not artistic) purposes. (Or if I see something that I absolutely have to get and I don't have time to enable Proraw).

In any case, hope you enjoy these!

This is a two-parter, so the next article will therefore be the "last of the last of the JPGs", as it were.

Thanks for looking!
