Photography and self-restraint part 1

June 07, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

At the time the following pictures were taken, the Japanese government had officially started requesting people to exercise what's called 自粛 in Japanese; it comes out in English as something like "self-restraint" or "self-discipline", and in this particular case it referred to doing whatever possible to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

To that end, I made a point of avoiding crowds as much as possible and only using public transport when absolutely necessary. As a result, the pictures in this article (and, with one specific exception, all those in the following) were all shot within walking distance of where I live (I tend to walk quite a lot, so this does cover quite a large area). Beyond that, there's no particular theme, but I hope you enjoy them!
