Out west

Living in Tokyo, I assume that all other parts of Japan are underdeveloped villages to be looked down on with maximum snobbery.

(Not really. But it makes an entertaining opening sentence).

A couple of months or so back, we were invited to a friend's wedding and reception in Osaka - not a place I go to often. We decided to turn it into a weekend trip, heading back on the following day via Kyoto.

The wedding and reception ended in the evening, so everything from Osaka is kind of dark.

The next morning we headed off to Kyoto. I had a couple of hours of free time while my wife was meeting friends, so I figured I'd look around Kyoto. It was, however, so ridiculously and unseasonably hot that I decided to stay in one area. So the rest of these pictures are either from in and around Kyoto station itself or within a one-to-two block radius.

A quick but fairly productive, photographically speaking, couple of days.

More to come, so keep an eye out.

Thanks for looking!
