London 2020: inside (1)

March 01, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

We were in London in January for an important family-related event. Needless to say, cameras were brought along. In this case, the iPhone 11 pro and, as a replacement for the medium format I'd been using, a Sigma DP3 Quattro. Having used the DP0 (a 21mm equivalent) before, and the Merrill models before that, the image quality was more or less a known factor - although from what I've seen so far, what I'm getting from the DP3 Quattro (a 75mm equivalent) might be the best output I've seen from any camera I have ever used thus far. It is absolutely superb (when used within its well-known limitations; I didn't even bother going over ISO 400 and stayed at 100 unless I had no other choice).

Despite arriving to a typical London weather scene: grey, dark, cold, and pouring with rain - the weather gradually improved over the week and a lot of photos were taken. I've divided them up into "outside" and "inside", of which there are significantly more "outside". I'm going to start with the "inside" though, because...well, no particularly good reason. There will be 2 "inside" articles and quite likely 3 "outside".

Here's the first set of "inside" photos; hope you like them!

The concluding part of the "inside" pictures should be up next week.

Thanks for looking!
