Entertainment, Chinese style

Tomorrow marks the start of Chinese New Year (according to Google), which makes it a good time to post this. Nagoya holds a Chinese New Year festival each year, although it's actually in January. There's probably some reason for that, but I'm not about to fry my brain cells trying to work it out.

Anyway, I went along to this year's event with the Nikon and the 70-300, which proved as useful as it is heavy. The following are from two of the three days of the festival.

I don't know if this lady had a particular title, but her act was riding on a pretty high unicycle while kicking items up and catching them on her head. If there's a term in any language which can encapsulate all that, I'm all for learning it.

Not sure exactly what they were cooking, but it was certainly bringing out the smoke.

Lots more to come, including at least two posts' worth of shots from a brief trip to Tokyo.

Thanks for looking!
