Local colour

November 22, 2015  •  Leave a Comment

A little play on words this week. Two definitions given for "local colour":

1) "the customs, manner of speech, dress, or other typical features of a place or period that contribute to its particular character"

2) "the natural color of a thing in ordinary daylight, uninfluenced by the proximity of other colors."

It's heading towards the peak of the autumn colours in this part of Japan, and so I thought the time would be right for an entry in which colour is the primary reason for the photo (as opposed to light, gesture, geometry, etc). Not just the leaves though (spectacular as they are), but any picture where the colour is the most important thing.

Here we go, then.

There should be some more "autumn colour" posts coming up, along with some more iPhone shots (some of the shots in this entry were with the iPhone and it's a credit to it that it's not clear without some visual clues which come from the iPhone and which from the Olympus).

Thanks for looking!

This is a collection of posts. Some (most) have a particular theme, but some are just collections. I try to only include my best shots in here.

If you like what you see, please leave a message and I'll try to answer all comments.

Thank you!
