Gozaisho in digital

November 30, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

A slight break from "film November" (after all, November is almost over) to present some shots from Gozaisho, but this time courtesy of the Sigma.

There is no question that my two film cameras are far more fun to use than the Merrill, but when it comes to the final result it's the other way around. The Merrill comfortably shows more detail than medium format film (even the Velvia 50 that I've been shooting recently) and obliterates the 35mm film. There's a time for all of them, though, so I'm not complaining!

Anyway. Gozaisho a la Sigma.

View from the cable car (the mountain can be climbed, but that would have required more time than we had)

View OF the cable car. It was very foggy at the start of the day.

Pity about the blown highlights in the clouds, but otherwise a nice shot

This is Tetsu. He is the general manager of a local shopping centre / family area called Aquaignis.

Think I'm bluffing? The Japanese on that sign says 総支配人 -  "general manager". He even has his own twitter feed. That's one cool dog.

A lot of water at Aquaignis (hence the name), leading to plenty of reflection shots

Last two shots are just those cute little touches you get in Japan which I can't resist.

Hope you enjoyed those. The film shots will return in due course, both 35mm and 120.

Thanks for looking!
